Business Studies  GCSE(Full Award)

 
Students actively engage in business and economics to develp an enquiring and critical approach to learning. They develop and apply their knowedge to contemporary issues in a range of local national and global contexts. They appreciate the different perspectives of stakeholders in relation to business and economic activities whilst considering the extent to whcih business and economic activity can be ethical and sustainable
 
Students are encouraged to be creative and enterprising in their approach to learning in Business Studies. It has been and always will be a subject that develops independent learning and confidence. Pupils frequently meet people from the business world and within lessons take part in simulation exercises. They  learn best when active learning takes place as there is a strong vocational element to the subject. Students also into context calculated risk and prudent financial management.
 

All pupils take a controlled test and this constitutes 25% of the mark at GCSE. Students take two formal written examinations at the end of year 11. The three elements combine to give a the full GCSE grade.
